Bloomsburg University is located in the serene town of Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, close to the Susquehanna River. New students get an orientation process that lasts two weeks, where they introduce themselves, ask questions, and learn about the school and how to navigate it. The school runs the Jump Start program for first-year students, a program to help sharpen their skills by joining clubs and organizations tailored to their interests. They also have learning communities to help students enrich their cultural, social, and academic lives at Bloomsburg.

There are over 250 clubs and organizations at Bloomsburg University, and among the categories are athletics, business, entertainment, faith, and the arts. Students can learn about governance and sharpen their advocacy skills in different associations. Students are the primary administrators for the Kehr Union for students, the university store, and the student recreation center. To encourage students to take up more leadership positions, the Community Government Association offers a scholarship to active members and leaders of clubs and organizations in the university. Qualified applicants must have at least a 2.5 CGPA and have earned at least 30 credits in their courses. Their applications will be forwarded to the student committee, which will choose the awardees based on the two criteria above. The Program Board generally manages social programs on campus. They usually oversee games, hospitality, homecoming, Fall Fest, Winter Wonderland, Musical Comedy Cafe, and Welcome Week. Athletics and fitness are also taken seriously by the student body at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania.

The student body is committed to promoting healthy living through growth membership and programs available to students and faculty members. They also organize other forms of exercise like yoga, Zumba, and rock climbing are also available at the university. Fitness facilities at Bloomsburg include a cardio room, climbing wall, dance studio, gym, boxing area, power room, racquetball courts, and track. Diverse and comfortable housing choices are available on and off campus for students, from single-unit apartments to six-bedroom houses. Some housing units are co-ed, while some are single-gender allotted based on request. There are also 12-month housing and special needs provisions upon request.

Dining provisions are available at Bloomsburg at the Scranton Commons. Exclusive, non-interchangeable meal plans are available to students who can only access them using their student ID. All meals from the commons are to be consumed in the building unless expressly allowed for takeout. Students on a special diet need a doctor’s note and permission from the dining manager to be accommodated into the meal plans. Students are responsible for throwing their trash away and maintaining a low noise level in the dining area. No student is allowed to be vulgar, offensive, or dress indecently in the dining area. Admission is open for new entrants in the fall and the spring. The university also awards scholarships to first-year students who have excellent grades in their respective majors or graduate programs. There’s also an admissions counselor available to help with any questions the student may have about applying to Bloomsburg University
